Hi I am Launee Janes and I am very excited to be returning for my 4th year at Ascent Academy as the Special Education teacher for grades K to 3rd grade.

I have been in the Education field as an Occupational Therapist Assistant and now a Special Education teacher starting on my 27th year off and on between the educational field and medical field.

I love to teach and see the progress my students make every year. I am passionate about education and I hope to see students and parents show their respect for teachers and staff because education is pretty spectacular!!

Everyone is important and all deserve an educational opportunity.

I am married to Dr. Janes and we have 4 children- 2 in college and 2 in high school. (2 boys and 2 girls). I come from a family of 5 girls and no brothers.

All of my sisters and my parents live within 2 to 10 miles of my house. We have a lot of fun and its been fun to raise our children together over the years.

I have been a sports and dance mom for many years and still have 3 years to look forward to before all my kids are out of school.

I have 2 adorable bulldogs, Tank and Ruby and 2 naughty cats, Peanut and Alex.

Our family loves to hike, travel, paddleboard, barbeque, and spend time together outside or cooking. 

Most of all, I want you to know that I am honored to be teaching your child and will care for them as my own while they are in the walls of this school and my classroom. Children are so amazing and they deserve to know they are cared for and that they can achieve anything and everything they set their minds to. I am here to teach them, challenge them and to cheer them on!!
