Fourth Grade

What up?!  I am so excited to begin another fabulous year at Ascent Academy teaching 4th grade..  This will be my 11th year teaching.  I enjoy what I do and feel that this is what I was meant to do.  I love children (my family laughs that I am a child magnet) and all of the fun and laughter that they bring to my life on a daily basis.  I love being part of your child’s village.

I have worked in education for the last 20+years.  I was a substitute teacher in Colorado for many years.  When I moved to Utah,  I decided to go ahead and obtain my Teaching License.  I have enjoyed every minute of having my own classroom.  I bring lots of outside knowledge to the Classroom.  It is important for students to know that Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies are used everyday in "real life".  School is fun and I like to bring that to the classroom. My classroom is a safe and loving environment.  We learn from our mistakes no matter what age we are.  School is about making mistakes and learning from them.  It is okay to fail!

Outside of school, I am a mom to Casie (39) and Delaney (21), wife to Jon, daughter and sister.  Most of my free time is spent watching my youngest daughter play softball.  She is a Junior at SUU. She keeps me busy and I am enjoying watching her play all of her sports.

"I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."  Michael Jordan
